MR Case Study: CMV Fetopathy and Cardiovascular Doppler
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Case Study: MR imaging was performed at 21 weeks, 3 days on a fetus whose outside studies demonstrated somatic growth restriction including a BPD three weeks smaller than expected. Outside ultrasound studies demonstrated a “dangling” choroid in an atrium that was less than 10 mm. Intracranial anatomy was otherwise unremarkable. Uterine and umbilical artery Dopplers were reported as abnormal. There were positive maternal CMV titers. At the time of the MR, amniotic fluid CMV studies were pending.

Evaluation of tissue doppler echocardiography and T2* magnetic resonance imaging in iron load of patients with thalassemia major
Background: Iron-mediated cardiomyopathy is the main complication of thalassemia major (TM) patients. Therefore, there is an important clinical need in the early diagnosis and risk stratification of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of tissue doppler imaging (TDI) to study cardiac iron overload in patients with TM using T2* magnetic resonance (MR) as the gold-standard...

Background:Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a systemic disease affecting extra pulmonary dysfunction as a result of CF-related lung disease. Because of lack of enough studies in this field and utilization of TDE in this field, we aimed to evaluate t...
متن کاملFactors affecting affect cardiovascular health in Indonesian HIV patients beginning ART
BACKGROUND We present a small longitudinal study of how demographic factors and persistent burdens of HIV and cytomegalovirus (CMV) influence cardiovascular health in young adults beginning ART in an inner-city clinic in Jakarta, Indonesia. METHODS ART-naïve HIV patients [n = 67; aged 31 (19 to 48) years] were enrolled in the JakCCANDO Project. Echocardiography and carotid Doppler ultrasonogr...
متن کاملAngiotensin-II receptor 1 antagonist fetopathy--risk assessment, critical time period and vena cava thrombosis as a possible new feature.
AIMS Angiotensin-II receptor 1 antagonists (AT₁-antagonists) may cause severe and even lethal fetopathy in late pregnancy. However, exposure still occurs in spite of warnings in package leaflets. This study aimed to assess the risk of fetopathy, the sensitive time window, and possible new symptoms in prospective as well as retrospective cases with AT₁-antagonist treatment during the second or t...
متن کاملClinical Use of Doppler Echocardiography in Organic Mitral Regurgitation: From Diagnosis to Patients' Management
Knowledge of mitral regurgitation (MR) is essential for any care provider, and not only for those directly involved in the management of cardiovascular diseases. This happens because MR is the most frequent valvular lesion in North America and the second most common form of valve disease requiring surgery in Europe. Furthermore, due to the ageing of the general population and the reduced mortal...
